How do you follow up a job interview? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?

The employer claimed he will contact me yesterday or today. He also claimed I can contact him anytimes, but he prefers to contact by e-mail.

He also said, don't be discourage if the position will be on hold.

How do I follow up? What should I write to him on e-mail.

Thank you very much. How do you follow up a job interview? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
I would follow up with an email, expressing your sincere gratitude for the time he spent with you, and express your interest in the position. Keep it simple and short. ASK for the job, if it's really what you want. How do you follow up a job interview? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
LEt him know you enjoyed interviewing with him and just wanted to follow up with him b/c you are very interested in becoming a part of his team. Add what you can and will bring to the table.
Just write a thank you e-mail, thanking him for taking the time to interview you.

Shows your gratitude, makes you look professional, and keeps you in his head when he's making his decision.
1.) email; include:

a. Gratitude for taking the time to interview you

b. Reminder of why you are the perfect candidate for the job

c. Quick summary (1-2 scentence) of what you can to bring to the job

d. make sure you spell names/titles correctly

e. end with: ';Thanks again, and I hope we will be in contact soon'; (something to re-emphasize your eagerness for this job)

2.) telephone call within a week (if no reply to email) to ten days (if replied to email); during the call:

a. realize that they might be busy so keep this a short/sweet courtesy call. (but the fact that you also took the time to email+call shows them your eagerness/seriousness to get the position)

b. continue to sell your strengths during the phone call.

c. don't forget to emphasize character (if you can send out a good message of character over the phone, you've done well)

you can do this through professional but friendly saying something that he might find funny (KEEP THIS PROFFESSIONAL)...(but this is a good time to show him something more than what's on paper)

d. End when things seem to be going good. leave them wanting more, but don't overdo it.

(the convo might go something like this:

greetings

(hi, How are you doing? this is .... you interviewed me on...., I was just wondering how that was going.)

light-hearted humor

(oh really? well...insert joking... hahaha)(haha, yes!)

end

(haha, yes!)(indeed... so I'll just leave you to your work now, and hopefully I'll see you around soon!)

email and phone call should leave a good visual and auditory impression in addition to a great resume and interview session.

other than that, you shouldn't be too worried if you think things are going well

GOOD LUCK!
I like what agony anna said. wait 48 hours and then call just to enquire. if nothing more happens then leave it.

I've done that many times, and been disappointed when I get told I will be contacted, and noone does.

employers are just too busy these days.
If I were you I would wait for around 48 hours beyond when he said he would contact you, otherwise you may appear like you are hassling him.

Then send an email simply asking how long he anticipates needing in order to decide upon a successul candidate. Continue to express your interest in the role and offer to meet with him again if there is any further information he would like from you.

If you don't hear back from that email after 48 hours telephone him once (and leave a message) then leave it. Don't look desperate.

Good luck!!
after any interview i email the employer and thank them for interviewing me and i write a short summary of my qualifications and specific things we talked about so they will remember me. doing this lets them know you're interested and you want the job. you could also call and speak to him directly and do the same. the only reason i wouldn't call is because if you call them at the wrong time, they may get angry and then you have just ended your chance. with an email at least, its there and whenever they get time, they can read it. you could call and speak with the secretary and she could give you the info you need to :';nail the job.';

..good luck with the new job once you get it dear!! :-)
No don't hun, PHONE him instead and say something like, ';Good morning, my name is .......... and i attended an interview there on such and such a date, This is just a ';courtecy call'; really to enquire as to how far along things may or may not be going. Hope that helps hun, Good luck.
