What advice can you give to visitor to the Baltic States (to me)?

I decided to go to the Baltic States this autumn. What advice can you give to visitor to the Baltic States (to me)?
Get a russian and a latvian dictionary, since both are spoken in Latvia. Alot of people do speak english, though. Exchange money for euros, cause not everyone will accept dollars. As far as visiting, Riga is beautiful. It has a lot of different types of public transportattion, so get a city map and a route map for different types, so its easier to get around. However, you can walk anywhere, cause everything is pretty close. It has a historic part of town in the middle and is very charming, there is a lot of culture but also fun things. The beaches are beautiful and not too far from main city. Depending on whether, you might even swim. Visit some historic castles in the cities surrounding latvia, they are beautiful and peaceful. What advice can you give to visitor to the Baltic States (to me)?
Try balty curry
To begin with, autumn is not the best choice for the Baltic States. I can only speak for Lithuania though, as I live her myself. So where do I start? Get some warm clothes and an umbrella. That's a must. Then, don't be too surprised if you see too many ';depressed'; people on the street. We are the nation that does not smile. In Lithuania, you could spend most of the time in Vilnius and explore other cities by taking a bus from there. The distance between the cities is not great... just like 100 km to second largest city and another 200 to third largest city. Bus is the best way to travel as trains are not comfy at all and very slow. If you gonna need to use cell phone, it's much better to get those pre paid cards, and u can call whoever to wherever for quite low prices. Things ain't really expensive, but naturally you would pay more in the city center (especially in Vilnius), than some other places. Riga (Latvia) is a bit more colder and a bit more expensive. Language shouldn't be a problem, as most of the younger generation speaks English. If you need any particular info, drop me a line. will be happy to help
Get a Russian Visa and go visit St Petersburg! Great Place!
I went to Latvia %26amp; Lithuania 2 years ago. They are slowly modernising after communism. Some nice old buildings to see, Riga, especially, and several coastal resorts. Train and bus services reasonable. Worth a visit, although it might be a bit cold in autumn.
