Yes, I'd have to agree with '; some do, some don't ';.
Some do. Others do not. It depends on the group organizing the protest, and the individual protesting.





I'm just guessing here, but I would say...


- People who just turn out to protest generally would not get any money.


- People who help coordinate protests by larger groups get at least some compensation... it might be just travel expenses, or it might be an actual salary for someone in the higher levels of an organization.
