What is the best form of exercise to try if you want to lose 30 pounds in six months. Any advice would be good

I need a cheap and effective way to lose weight for a healthy lifestyle. Key words: healthy lifestyle, i don't want to lose the weight and then start slacking off again. I'm about 200 pounds at 5'7 and i would like to tone up and be as hot as i was when i was in high school. I'm not into crash dieting or putting my body through even more stress, i want to do this to get results that will last. What is the best form of exercise to try if you want to lose 30 pounds in six months. Any advice would be good
Healthy diet is also a part of it:

whole grains

fruits and vegetables

milk products

meat and legumes

some oils (like olive oil)

Exercises - walking, swimming, biking, cross-country skiing . . .What is the best form of exercise to try if you want to lose 30 pounds in six months. Any advice would be good
what you eat is important to
Swimming is really good since it uses all of your muscles and burns off fat. You should eat healthy too.
Eat 6 small meals to keep your insulin leveled and drink a lot of water to keep your body hydrated. Walk at a higher pace than you would normally and add some form of cardio. Buy an old Tae Bo tape, I lost a lot of weight with the first one that came out and kept off til this day. It worked for me.
This worked for me:

-started eating better - nothing major but instead of fries had a fruit cup, when I was snacky had some fruit, not all the time but most of the time

-half hour to 45 minutes cardio 3-4 times a week (oliptical/stationery bike)

-pilates class...awesome for toning muscles without adding bulk

-walk more

-turned the TV off in the evening and stopped snacking

-stay off the scale...you will have up %26amp; down days so don't obsess with numbers!!

The key is to not over exert yourself, keep it simple and enjoy yourself!!

I also bought myself a ';goal'; outfit...it was only 2 sizes smaller but every couple of weeks I tried it on to see my progress...happy to report I will wearing it this weekend!!

Good luck!!
The best exercise is jogging and most of all push-ups.In order to get fit you need to make exercising a daily habit.I'm a Body Builder, and trust me I've there.
Weight Watchers is a good, livable program.

But, for us gals, you need to exercize and cut back on calories to lose weight. (Men have luck with just one or the other, but it works best to do both for women.)

The thing I liked best about the Weight Watchers program was you could eat anything you wanted, just control the portions. I liked that (YES, I ate chocolate and lost weight!)
weight watchers and jogging. Weight Watchers is a healthy lifestyle and is big on getting activity or exercise in. The follow the guidelines of the Heart, Cancer and Diabetic Associations...check them at at www.weightwatchers.com
Swimming is the best overall exercise since you use your whole body.
You should combine a decent cardio workout (walking, jogging, biking) with a strength training circuit (dumbbells). This will burn lots of calories as you exercise as well as add more muscle, which will to burn need more calories to function.

Check out The Abs Diet. It isn't a ';diet'; book, but has TONS of info on nutrition and simple exercises.
a good diet and some cardio
Honestly, the best exercise is one you'll actually DO! Find something you really like - it's so much easier to stay on track. I personally really like Turbo Jam and Turbo Kick (Turbo Jam is the home version and Turbo Kick is the gym version) it's a cardio kickboxing workout with a bit of dancy stuff. Loads of fun! I also enjoy tai chi and yoga, but those I do mostly for mental health - Turbo is my fat burner of choice.

Good luck to you - sounds like you'll do fine because you have a healthy, realistic approach.
Hi -- weight training with small, hand-held weights (or bigger weights, if you're a guy) is definintely the way to go. It builds muscle which will rev up your metabolism, making you able to keep the weight off more consistently. Also, the harder you work at it, the faster you'll lose inches. Women don't realize that this does not bulk you up with big muscles, it just tones you, and makes you look great while burning calories all day long. You can do it at home with just a cheap floor mat and hand weights that can be bought at any store like Wal-mart.
Pretty much any type of aerobic exercise will work as long as you stick to a low calorie healthy diet. Eat lots of veggies, lean meat %26amp; fish and keep the carbs low and don't drink anything but water. Try to exercise 5-6 days a week 30-45 mins a day.
