Women in the US Air Force, would you advice me to join?

I am seriously thinking about joining. But I would like to know from women who have experience in it to help me make my decision. Should I join? How good are the benefits? Is it safe? Will I feel like i'm actually serving my country? Anything you might want to add or inform me about? Maybe something encouraging?Women in the US Air Force, would you advice me to join?
I joined the Air Force right out of HS...way back when. I went in saying to myself ';I am only doing my 4 years and I'm done.'; Well, I ended up doing almost 10 years active duty and then got out. I couldn't stand being away from it so I joined the Air National Guard and have been in it ever since. It has been almost 20 years total service for me and I still love it.

I have had my ups and downs, like any job, but it was well worth it for me. I have learned a lot about my career and about myself. I have met people and experienced things I would have never been able to if it wasn't for the Air Force.

The benefits are probably the best you will get. You have a paycheck every 1st and 15th, you have full health and dental, you have tax-free shopping and the prices at the commissary are much better than your average grocery store. On top of that, you have life insurace for yourself and for your spouse, if you decide to do that.

Not all the career fields are the greatest for women because of them being ';male friendly'; but women are in almost every career field we have besides maybe combat controllers and pararescue. What ever you choose to do, you put on that uniform and you are serving your country. You wear it proud and hold your head up high and know you live in the greatest free country in the world.

I highly encourage anyone, men or women, to join one of the branches to serve their country.

I hope this helps. Good luck!!Women in the US Air Force, would you advice me to join?
I love how you asked ';will i feel like I'm actually serving my country?'; that makes me feel like you want to join for some of the right reasons! I would definetly encourage you to join! And yes, it's safe, and the benefits are great as well. you can email me with any questions you may have. Um..advice, get in shape before you go off to basic..and remember basic training is only a mind game!
I'm not a woman but being in the Air Force, I would suggest you use it to your benefit. Pick a career that you want and try and get that job or one related to it in the Air Force. You can get your education and four years of hands on experience to better serve you for the rest of your life.
yes you are doing a very great thing for our country that is what my brother did he is a marine and he is a sharp shooter i miss him very much and i pray for all the soldiers fighting for the right for us to live god bless you and all the soldiers
